Losing one to drugs and another to homicide, she is determined to save her remaining sons from the grasp of a horrific demon. Patricia Floyd gives an expert performance in this supernatural thriller. Even as the narrative shifts from mystery to the realm of the supernatural, Floyd carefully guides the listener. This is no small feat, for like the Latin-American novelists who immerse their tales in magical realism, the novel can veer to the incredible.
