Narrator Kim Ramirez takes listeners on a cattle drive across the Wyoming prairie that turns into a supernatural nightmare. Greta Molina's friend has offered her a big payday for working a 10-day cattle drive that includes two men she's known since college. However, the canyon they travel through has a legacy of murder, a ghost train, dead animals walking alongside the living, and a gigantic birdlike creature that snatches a baby cow right out from under Greta's nose. Ramirez builds the tension with each of Greta's frightening encounters. Her well-paced narration gives the audiobook the feel of a classic Western combined with a campfire ghost story.
