ENDYMION SPRING is a fantasy novel with two story lines, each revolving around a strange book--a mysteriously wordless volume that seems to have a life of its own. In fifteenth-century Germany, a young printer's apprentice is irresistibly drawn to a sinister chest protected by carved monsters and a clasp of snakes' heads. At modern-day Oxford University, a professor's young son discovers an enticing blank volume in the ancient library. Narrator Richard Easton's well-honed voice enlivens the stories with rich characters and both boys' tentative sense of discovery.
