Eleanor Bennett's crisp British accents bring listeners into the intriguing world of Feather, a small creature who lives in a crumbling wall next to a large, encroaching forest. She seems even more miniature as she takes off into unknown lands, seeking Merildun, a stranger who has stolen the spyglass that belongs to her people. Despite the small voice Bennett gives the heroine, she is strong and brave, determined to best the thieving villain. Bennett's narration allows listeners to savor the lush forest descriptions, as well as the fairy-tale language and world-building. Bennett lets us witness Feather's amazement at discoveries that will lead to larger possibilities for her community. S.W. © AudioFile 2025, Portland, Maine [Published: SEPTEMBER 2025]
