When Suzy Palmer is accused of murdering her two young children, her friends rally round to help her. As the story develops, every character's background is presented in detail, but it's impossible to care about any of them in this weak performance. The only time that Laurence Bouvard is successful is when she is reading the narrative parts; once she moves into dialogue, she fails utterly. The voices, whether British, Irish, German, or American, are poor, rendering every character either unlikable or stereotypical. By the end, listeners will have long since figured out who the culprit is, and not much care. S.S.R. © AudioFile 2007, Portland, Maine [Published: APR/ MAY 07]
