THE MUM DETECTIVE

In the sequel to THE MUM HUNT, Kelly Hunter gives voice to 12-year-old Esmie and her blended family? including her older brother, Matthew; her father, a police inspector; and dad's girlfriend, Lizzie. Esmie, who is planning to be a detective like her father, launches a search for the mother of Matthew's girlfriend, who disappeared some years earlier. The teenagers concoct wild suppositions of murder. Esmie also spies upon Lizzie, whom she drew into her father's life in the first novel with the help of a former nanny, who makes a few phone appearances in this production in Hunter's delightfully stagy French accent.
