When his brother dies unexpectedly from a heart attack, Hap Tyler is suspicious of the seamy circumstances. His investigation leads him to sunken treasure and the people who make Miami one of the most dangerous cities in the U.S. The strength of Hall's story rests in his inventive characters, who range from just plain strange to downright diabolical. Lee's narration is well-paced, like a stroll along the beach, and characters are easily distinguishable through slight vocal changes.
