Ingenious minds will find plenty of inspiration in this audiobook, featuring Archimedes, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Edison, and other inventors. Narrator Benjamin Soames's unhurried tones of quiet wonder add drama to the stories of men who influenced history with their gadgets. While Soames uses a factual style of delivery, his presentation is well suited to the extended biographies, and his voice reveals personal interest in the subject matter that will surely be transferred to listeners. The period music separating the inventors' biographies is an effective addition. Even listeners who don't usually choose nonfiction audio will find something to fascinate them.
