In this mystery series Georgia Barnett, an African-American TV reporter, finds herself and her cameraman held hostage in a bank by a bomb-wielding man. He's not there to rob the bank--he wants the police to find his missing daughter. If there's a flaw in this audiobook, it's that the pace of the narration is at times slow. Still, this work is well done. Sharon Washington's forte is her ability to portray contemporary Chicagoans of any ethnicity, gender, or age group. She is credible whether presenting a young black woman or an old Italian-American man. This is an instance of a good story being made better by the narrator.
