Mysticism is an intensely challenging topic, and it's hard to imagine a more welcoming guide through its complexities than Tessa Bielecki. Her voice is gentle and often filled with humor and wonder as she recounts her own experiences with contemplation and the Divine. She refers to Saint Augustine almost casually but always enthusiastically, as if they share a passion despite the centuries separating them, which, in fact, they do. Bielecki's suggestions for living the contemplative life are clear and easy to understand, though many would be difficult to live by. She illustrates them with references from popular culture that range from the expected, such as C. S. Lewis's CHRONICLES OF NARNIA, to the surprising, such as the movie COOL HAND LUKE.
