HAVEN

by | Read by Dick Hill

Mystery & Suspense • 15 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1997

When ex-East German spy Martin Kessler finds his former lover and ex-Israeli operative Elizabeth Stride on Hilton Head, she's trying, for the first time in her life, to live a "normal" life. This turns out to be impossible when they're both drawn into intrigue involving Muslim terrorists, a kidnapped Muslim girl trying to escape an American bounty hunter hired by her uncle, and Feds who are on the trail of the bounty hunter. Dick Hill, veteran thriller narrator, easily handles the tension and fast pace. Although his German accent sounds much like his Egyptian, his narrative effectively weaves the emotional threads of the story. He keeps the action going and the characters defined as the plot builds to its terrifying climax. Lots of suspense plus characters to care about makes this a success.
