Narrators Rudnicki, Zimbalist, Johnson, and Windom deliver the stories in gruff and gravelly voices that embody the kinds of worlds in which London's characters exist. Birney reads the reflective story "War" in a subdued voice. Rudnicki proves chilling in his rendition of "To Build a Fire," his deep baritone voice and somber tone providing an atmosphere resembling the cold, desolate world of the protagonist. Zimbalist, too, shines with his crackling voice, adding depth to the character in the feature story, "Love of Life."
