SATAN

In this lecture and question-and-answer session, Rabbi Michael Katz provides learned, humane, and, at times, humorous commentary on one of the greatest questions of the Judeo-Christian tradition: the nature of Satan. Katz discusses the necessary role Satan is assigned to play by God. He also explains how this perspective and accompanying views on sin, suffering, and redemption emerged from the Jewish tradition. Because this is a live lecture, the sound quality varies. Katz's voice is always audible but is sharper some times than others, and the same is true of his questioners. The issues raised are at once personal and deeply informed in the Judeo-Christian tradition, and, therefore, require close attention.
