CAPITAL CRIMES

This second collaboration by the Kellermans, who usually write novels separately, contains two novellas. In MY SISTER'S KEEPER, Davida Grayson, a state representative who is a lesbian, a progressive, and a supporter of stem-cell research, is murdered by one of her numerous enemies. Detectives Will Barnes and Amanda Isis must uncover the killer. Faye Kellerman's series hero, Detective Decker of the LAPD, makes a cameo appearance. MUSIC CITY BREAKDOWN involves the murder of folk guitarist Jack Jeffries, who happens to be the patient of Jonathan Kellerman's series regular, Alex Delaware. In both works John Rubinstein provides a credible narration that showcases his deep voice and penchant for clear detail.
