At her summer job in a historical park , Lyn Paget chooses to reenact the part of Elisabeth Bernard, a girl of her own age living the Nova Scotia. One morning Lyn finds herself thrown back in time to the year 1744. With her skill with lengthy descriptive passages, narrator Caruso makes time fly as she transports the listener to this historical era. Her French accent exhibits fine consistency and variety in dialogue which helps distinguish among the multitude of characters. Her reading is well-paced, allowing the reader to form memorable images of life in the 1700's. The colorful cover design should attract both teens, who wouldn't have touched the 320-page book, and adults equally. B.C. ©AudioFile, Portland, Maine [Published: SEPT 92]
