THE HITLER OF HISTORY

by | Read by Edward Lewis

Biography & Memoir • 9 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1997

This is a straightforward reading of wellknown historian John Lukacs's analysis of the literature surrounding Adolph Hitler. Lukacs cruises through the vast literature on the subject, singling out those who deserve praise and those whose scholarship is suspect. Interestingly, he devotes space to David Irving, Holocaust revisionist and Hitler proponent, because of the detail in certain areas of Irving's research. Reader Lewis has a calm, well-ordered, mildly expressive approach to the material (not that the book lends itself to histrionics). Interest in Hitler is vast, and this study is unusual.
