THE HOME OF THE BLIZZARD

The coldest, windiest place on Earth went largely unexplored until the early twentieth century, when an Australian expedition led by Douglas Mawson spent two years living on the icy subcontinent of Antarctica. Experienced narrator James Condon, also an Australian, brings perfect elocution to the production, although he works hard to smother any Australian regionalism in the King's English. His evident pleasure in the narrative's every word obstructs the listener's appreciation. During passages of extreme challenge and tragedy, Condon allows himself to be caught up in the story, and the production benefits.
