Lloyd James's narration covers the controversial topic of the growth of the modern church. His voice is gentle, his tone and words clear and precise as he interprets the author’s work. McNeal begins by warning those he feels shouldn't listen to the book before recommending it to those tired of the way the church disseminates its ideas and beliefs, which seems more like marketing and less like a spiritual practice to the author. The focus is on converting followers to a church instead of on converting to Christ and to one’s spiritual development. McNeal believes the church mission is neglected as churches sell Jesus as corporations sell soap. This is exceptionally well done, and an audio every pastor should hear.
