KING OF THE CLOUD FORESTS

Fleeing with his uncle from his father's mission in China during the Japanese invasion, Ashley Anderson never imagines how much impact the journey will have on him in the years to come. While trekking across the Himalayas, he is separated from his uncle and left to die. But he is rescued by the mythical yetis, who come to honor him as their king, leaving Ashley to decide whether he should stay or go. Morpurgo delivers this charming and endearing tale in a British accent and steady pace. He masterfully manipulates the monosyllabic utterances of the yetis to illustrate the intention behind their often indiscernible words.
