HOWARD'S END

by | Read by Nadia May

Fiction • 12 hrs. • Unabridged • © (1911)

The interwoven lives of the Wilcox and Schlegel families are familiar to movie-goers from last year’s fine Merchant/Ivory release. However, faulty production mars this audio presentation of the delightful novel, so English in its outlook and value system. Nadia May’s diction is fine, and she uses some differentiation between characters. However, a continual echo jars the listener throughout. In several instances, volume control needed to be changed from tape to tape. A better studio production would have added immeasurably to the presentation.
