APPOINTMENT AT THE ENDS OF THE WORLD

by | Read by Jim Bond

Contemporary Culture • 9 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1999

William Karesh is a good storyteller with an interesting and unusual job, so the rest takes care of itself. His job takes him to some of the most inaccessible spots on the planet to work with rare and endangered (and often dangerous) animals. (The listener wonders why fiction is rarely so interesting.) Jim Bond is a pleasant reader with an amiable, yarn-spinning manner that complements the light touch of the writing. Karesh takes his work, but not himself, seriously. Although presented as an adult title, this book would be interesting and accessible even to some preadolescents, including reluctant readers.
