If you like a thriller with lots of plot twists, and you're ready to suspend disbelief for a bit, then MALICE will certainly entertain. The latest novel by Tanenbaum begins as Manhattan District Attorney Butch Karp is recovering from being shot by his rival, fellow prosecutor Rachel Rachman, who was, in turn, gunned down by Karp's wife, Marlene Ciampi. From there, the plot becomes even more improbable, moving from New York to Idaho and other locales. Mel Foster ably delivers the diverse cast of characters in a briskly paced style that meshes well with a plot that seems to consider every conspiracy theory as a possibility.
