ARABIAN NIGHTS

Jim Weiss selects four from the 264 magical tales that form the Arabian Nights and skillfully adapts them to his own storytelling style. His ability to subtly vary his voice to reflect the personalities of the characters--from Scheherazade in the introductory framing tale to the gruff growl of the robber chief in "Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves"-- adds color and variety to each story. At the same time, his steady pitch and careful pacing provide the thread of continuity necessary to connect the stories.
