Jimmy Carter is a man without artifice, and his charming book reflects that same directness. His presentation is a simple, straightforward reading of his text. Listeners familiar with his presidential speeches will recognize the distinctive Georgia drawl and rather wooden delivery. However, as the book progresses and Carter discusses his and Rosalynn's work on health issues in some of the most desperately poor places on earth, he becomes much more animated.
