In a world of endless credit, Scurlock paints a disturbing picture of bankers and their often ruthless attempts to separate people at all levels of the socioeconomic ladder from their money. Their often dubious and sinister practices, along with their ceaseless push to cram more credit down peoples' throats regardless of need or ability to pay back, are leading to an economic disaster on par with the Great Depression. Kerin McCue does well narrating this book, which frequently transitions from explaining complicated market processes and legal lingo to personal tales of lost battles with creditors.
