INADMISSABLE EVIDENCE

by | Read by Dennis Boutsikaris

Mystery & Suspense • 6 hrs. • Abridged • © 1993

An audio presentation of a complex murder mystery can be deceptively challenging. Inadmissable Evidence deals with the retrial of an old murder case and with a prosecutor's dangerous involvement in the trial. In this production, there are many characters, and much of the dialogue takes place in a courtroom; keeping track of things can prove difficult. Through the many subplots, reader Boustakaris gives an impressive performance. One gets a sense of the characters' inner lives--not an easy accomplishment by any means. Some of the female witnesses sound the same (and some do not sound like women), but this is negligible. The text, however, is fat in places; not all the subplots move along the story. Still, this is a fine performance of a good mystery. G.A.D. ©AudioFile, Portland, Maine [Published: JULY 93]
