To help a friend whose cats are being terrorized by an unseen predator, a divorced, unemployed screenwriter living in the forests of Washington investigates and finds what he thinks is cougar urine. But truth be told, it's the urine of . . . something else. Writing and acting here are competent, and the main voice, presumably Ferde Grofé's, is craggily likable. Music and sound effects are limited but well used. Unfortunately, some characters, while supposedly face-to-face, sound as if they were recorded in different rooms. And most listeners will see where the sometimes implausible story is going long before it gets there. Still, this is an amusing and enjoyable production.
