Portraying a well-known historical figure is no easy task--especially if one wishes to portray that person accurately. George C. Scott's famous portrayal of General Patton made a big impression, but few would have been impressed if Scott had performed Patton with his real high-pitched voice. His tone is serious, deep pitched, folksy, and engaging. This IS Lincoln for sure, perhaps not as he was heard in 1863, but definitely as we expect him to be in 2008.
