This full-cast performance of DeChancie's futuristic thriller brings to mind Orwellian radio dramas of years ago. The cast does a fine job creating the reality of the investigation into a society brainwashed with the use of nanotechnology to become passive zombies. Although the ensemble works well together, the narrator's voice tends to be louder than the rest of the cast's, creating an unbalanced feel to the recording. The sound effects and background music are extremely well done, however, balancing out the production as a whole. Innerverse is a great story for science fiction fans that lends itself well to audio format. R.A.P. ©AudioFile, Portland, Maine [Published: DEC/JAN 99]
