This is the soundtrack of the last six episodes of the first season (1963-64) of "Doctor Who," the classic BBC science-fiction television series. The plot concerns the time travelers accidentally landing in the midst of the French Revolution's Reign of Terror. The audio has been lovingly restored and is clear as a bell. It helps that the actors are all wonderfully cast, and the sound effects and music are also spot-on. The actress who played the Doctor's granddaughter in those early days, Carole Ann Ford, provides a smooth narration linking the scenes. Her upper-crust British voice fits in seamlessly. As a bonus, she is interviewed at the end of the presentation. It's all very satisfying for the "Doctor Who" fan. D.R.W. © AudioFile 2008, Portland, Maine [Published: AUGUST 2008]
