INTO THE STORM

The producers employ an interesting device here. The book, a personal history of the Gulf War from the point of view of one of the senior commanders, was written by two authors. Likewise, the audiobook has two narrators, one playing Tom Clancy, the overall narrator, the other playing General Franks, whose personal history the story tells. As Clancy, Boyd Gaines sounds like a good documentary film narrator; he pronounces words carefully in a mature baritone. As General Franks, Ken Jenkins has a spontaneous style; he reminisces in a deeper, rougher, more mellow voice. An unreadable postcard-sized map is included.
