GONE MISSING

When Jade finds herself continually fighting with her mum and dad and Honey becomes frustrated over her disagreements with her mum, the pair decide to fun away from home. The leave Birmingham and head for London, where, not surprisingly, life isn’t as easy and fun as they expect. Ure skillfully dramatizes the girls’ friendship, as well as their relationships with their parents. Narrator Kate Byers renders striking differences in the personalities of the two girls. She expertly handles the wide range of emotions they experience as they meet challenges they’ve never before encountered. Young people will enjoy this take on running away from home.
