IT'S A JUNGLE OUT THERE, JANE

A veteran talk show host and psychologist who's heard it all, Brown speaks with cocky familiarity about men, much of it in the form of one-liners and smart-aleck remarks. Nevertheless, she covers the major issues thoroughly and adds context with interesting sound bites about animal behavior and cultural anthropology. The cleverness of her delivery has a sit-com quality to it, but this is outweighed by her savvy understanding of men and what she has to say about romantic relationships, marriage, friendships, aggression, anger, competition, emotional expression and parenting.
