THE ART AND SCIENCE OF PROBLEM SOLVING

Author/narrator Bill Gibson leads the listener through twelve segments of tips and techniques for identifying and solving problems. Although personal and relationship difficulties are mentioned, the focus is on situations arising in small business. The production is well-produced and well-organized. Gibson's speaking voice, however, remains in the middle ranges and doesn't engage the listener. The delivery sounds artificial--as if the material is being read from cue cards--and the lack of smoothness interferes with the content. Librarians should be aware that the enclosed workbook, while it may enhance the understanding of Gibson's system, may cause circulation problems for libraries.
