THE AMATEUR SPY

by | Read by Phil Gigante

Mystery & Suspense • 14 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2007

THE AMATEUR SPY is one of those novels in which the hero's plight seems so desperate, so dire that escape and rescue seem impossible--which makes it all the more enjoyable when it happens. All Freeman and Mila Lockhart want to do is live out their lives on a Greek island, but the retired humanitarian-aid workers get sucked into international espionage. Fesperman's story needs a skilled narrator to bring the many varied characters to life. Phil Gigante manages to put a voice to each of the characters and give each a personality that befits his or her place in the story. In Particular, he does a great salty Greek accent and portrays a winsome woman from Sarajevo. Good story, great storytelling. M.S. © AudioFile 2008, Portland, Maine [Published: AUGUST 2008]
