Scheuer, a former CIA analyst, continues his critique of the U.S. response to radical Islamists. Using his own extensive experience and knowledge, he considers the War in Iraq an absolute disaster. Still, he views the U.S. as being at war with the Islamists--a war that he expects to be prolonged and which he believes is critical to the very survival of our nation. His solutions for winning this life-and-death struggle will be seen as drastic by many listeners. Richard Ferrone's baritone is somewhat raspy but gives this production a tone of authority. The author is heartfelt in his opinions, and Ferrone matches this intensity--which is almost strident from time to time but is always no-nonsense.
