Doug Fine assumes the role of narrator for his own memoir, and the result is comical, inspired, and compulsive listening for a wide-ranging audience. The truly outstanding aspect of Fine's reading is that it doesn't sound like a reading at all. Fine sounds as if he's simply speaking off the top of his head about ideas and concepts of interest to him. Ultimately, his story is a perfect blend of self-deprecating humor, enthusiastic environmental lecture, and touching personal memoir that entertains and informs.
