IN NIXON'S WEB A Year in the Crosshairs of Watergate

Earphones Award Winner

by | Read by Michael Prichard

Biography & Memoir • 11.5 hrs. • Unabridged • ©

Ed Gray, son of the then FBI director, chronicles his father’s detailed memories of his role in the investigation of Nixon’s crimes. Narrator Michael Prichard doesn’t do characterizations, but when he comes to the paranoid president’s words--and without ever mimicking his voice--he otherwise imitates to a tee Nixon’s badgering interrogations and lapses of reality. The author includes juicy transcripts of the incriminating conversations recorded on the famous tapes from the Oval Office. With these Prichard does a priceless parody of the mumbling, muttering “Tricky Dick” conspiring with his aides as the intrepid dogs of justice snap at his heels. Although one might argue that another memoir about Watergate and the abuse of presidential power is anachronistic, the subject remains pertinent today. J.A.H.
