What a treat! Michael Morpurgo is as wonderful a reader as he is a teller of tales! A young boy becomes lost in the fog while racing the rising tide. He is rescued by King Arthur, who him tells the story of the finding of Excalibur, the rise of the Round Table, the quests, dragon-slayings and heroism, and finally the dark days that brought the curtain down on Camelot. Michael Morpurgo is a thrilling King Arthur. His voice twinkles in much the same way that he describes Arthur's eyes twinkling. He reads with warmth, humor, and excitement; gravity, sorrow, and regret. It's a wonderful performance, complete with heraldic music to mark the beginning and end of each side and the division of parts.
