THE KING ARTHUR AUDIO COLLECTION

The exalted language of Pyle’s The Story of King Arthur and His Knights has been criticized for being “pseudo-medieval.” In print the text may seem so, but not when Ian Richardson reads it. His eloquent narration is inspiring, and the sentences roll off his tongue. In addition, the reading is enhanced by the sound of fanfares at the beginning of each adventure and by organ music and a celestial choir as Galahad kneels before the Holy Grail in the minster.
