MAUSOLEUM

by | Read by Joe Barrett

Mystery & Suspense • 8 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2007

It's difficult to believe that a story that centers around events in a cemetery can be so lively, but this mystery by Justin Scott is just that. The quaint cemetery in Newbury, Connecticut, has been invaded by a monstrous mausoleum built by a rich California transplant. Murder and crime detection follow, and listeners are introduced to a motley crew of suspects, both the stolid descendants of Puritans and Latin-American transients. All these well-defined characters are expertly brought to life by the vocal skills of Joe Barrett. His portrayal of crusty Aunt Constance is particularly noteworthy. This light entertainment is well worth the time to listen. D.L.G. © AudioFile 2008, Portland, Maine [Published: JULY 2008]
