EDGE OF EVIL

Things are dire for popular Los Angeles TV news anchor Ali Reynolds. She's unceremoniously fired because, at 45, she's "too old" to pull in the youth market. In addition, her husband's been cheating, and when her dear friend's body is found, suicide is suspected. Ali begins a therapy blog for herself and others who've been "cut loose." On it, she vents her frustrations, explores her grief, and answers lengthy emails from people who connect with her blog. Narrator Kristen Kairos succeeds in making Ali a confused, concerned semi-celebrity. Kairos’s male voices are a bit too breathy and gruff, but when Ali starts to get hate-emails and threats become substance, Kairos nicely darkens the mood.
