These excerpts from interviews with famous comedians are a dose of popular culture. King and guests talk, laugh and take calls. Some excerpts are taped before audiences while others are speckled only with King's laughter. The material makes this production natural for audio. However, the compression of multiple comics onto one tape and the switches from serious, personal talk to comic performance create an unbalanced effect. A few comics, such as Jonathan Winters and Lily Tomlin, make their impact despite the crowding, but it helps to know something about each comic before listening.
