Orville Copperstone is an old-fashioned, inquisitive kid. When something fascinates him, he tries to learn all about it in this unusual and spirited science fiction tale. Narrator Daniel Hill perfectly presents the irresistible Orville (who hates his name); his elderly, very funny neighbor; and his good-natured parents. After a violent storm scientists are shocked to notice a new planet unlike any other they've ever observed. The only person in the world who is wondering and even troubled by the phenomenon is Orville. Is this new planet a good thing, or will it eat the world?
