Another in the SELECTED SHORTS series, this volume highlights many of the awkward, comical, and emotional facets of being married. From extramarital torch-carrying in Shahrnush Parsipur's "Mrs. Farrokhlaqa Sadraldivan Golchehreh" (read by Frances Sternhagen) to the tearjerker story from Luis Alberto Urrea, "Bid Farewell to Her Many Horses" (read by Robert Sean Leonard) to the very cool and somewhat creepy "The Wife's Story" by Ursula K. Le Guin (read by Joanna Gleason), this recording has it all. Oh, yes—and a healthy dose of humor by way of Sherman Alexie's "Do You Know Where I Am?" (read by Keir Dullea). This is a perfect collection for aficionados of both the short story and live performance. Both elements are there in full force, making for a very satisfying listen.
