The theme proposes social responsibility in business by encouraging companies to maximize environmental friendliness, merchandise quality, and community outreach. Because author Tim Sanders wrote the material, his upbeat and enthusiastic narration does it justice. He's selling ideas, and it sounds like his well-practiced pitch has been honed to perfection by extensive public-speaking experience. Sanders piques listeners' interest as he moves through the many examples of how his ideas of corporate respect for the community can increase the company's bottom line. Wal-Mart did it by pushing CFL light bulbs; Toyota did it by building quality into its vehicles. Although the audiobook aims its messages at managers and supervisors, some of the content could appeal to general readers interested in improved business practices.
