Unpublished during Louisa May Alcott's lifetime, this gripping bodice-ripper is sure to please both students of love and literature. Blair Brown performs a satisfactorily dramatic rendering of the tale. Male voices are manly, and the listener will gasp in sympathy at the plight of poor Rosamund. Brown ensnares us in the tale. The final, tragic cords of music turn the reading into a farce--a silent film in audio. The abridgment is undetectable; the recording is an absolute delight.
