SONG OF THE BONES

by | Read by Beth Richmond

Mystery & Suspense • 8 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2003

Soon after a woman asks to have her long-gone husband declared dead, the man turns up. When Chantalene Morrell, who works for her boyfriend in a rural Oklahoma law office, investigates, it's not long before the prodigal husband is found dead. It takes a while for M.K. Preston to get to the mystery, and that's okay since it gives Beth Richmond the chance to develop a small town full of interesting, sympathetic characters. The male voices may have a little too much swagger, but Richmond invests them with personality as she draws listeners into the mystery. Richmond's injection of heart makes the novel's action scenes gripping. J.A.S. © AudioFile 2009, Portland, Maine [Published: FEBRUARY 2009]
