LUM AND ABNER

A comic soap opera of rube humor set in mythical Pine Ridge, Arkansas, aired nearly continuously from 1931 to 1953, some kind of record. The four broadcasts heard here are from 1948-49, when the half-hours featured a live band and studio audience. With the help of Chicago collector Chuck Schaden, The Audio File (no relation to the magazine) has lovingly restored what sounds like the original station disks or air checks.
