G. Valmont Thomas reprises his role as Sallis's savvy, smoky-voiced private eye, Lew Griffin, who is on the trail of the missing daughter of a former flame. The case, with its themes of family bonds and redemption, is also a personal odyssey for Griffin. Valmont Thomas's baritone drawl is a perfect match for the emotional weight of the story. His mellow yet robust narration lends strength to the gumshoe’s sardonic wit and guides the listener through the steamy Southern locales with an introspective edge.
